Jorge
Cordero's Cabana Septiembre is located about 10 kilometers
from the city of José Ignacio in south-eastern Uruguay. The
Cabana's main activity is cattle breeding, but they also raise
Criollo horses and Argentine ponies.
This magnificent ranch
is the home of many champions, including B.T. Halcon, R.D.
Escarpiao, Quelen Alacran and B.T. Odilasca, among others.
On their site, you'll discover pictures of these champions,
a few videos, and a listing of horses for sale with the pedigrees
of most of the animals.
The Cabana Septiembre
breeding program is centered around 90 brood mares divided
into three herds. Five stallions are used on the farm. Besides
the horses native to the Rio de la Plata, we can also see
horses with Chilean origins. Among the latter, there are 8
from La Invernada Hornero, and 3 from B.T. Delantero, two
famous horse farms in Chile.
The people of the Cabana
Septiembre put their heart and soul into their work. Their
horses are entered into several competitions, for both physical
allure and ease in handling. The results obtained by the Cabana
production, both in Uruguay and in foreign competitions, prove
that the Criollo knows how to show his excellency in the international
ring.
